Electrifying!
Today it's been largely forgotten that in the 1950s, southern gospel groups were routinely shocked with a non-lethal charge of electricity as they sang, resulting in facial expressions and body language similar to what you see above. Due to changing societal norms and pressure from PETS (People for the Ethical Treatment of Singers), the barbaric practice slowly fell out of favor and was banned completely in 1971.
