Consider it a Digital Hall of Shame for Gospel album covers that are unintentionally funny and/or downright bizarre.

The Singing Ledbetters
"Mother's Prayer" was that we take a family photo in a room with wood paneling and shag carpet...with our hair piled high...with little Bobby wearing his favorite plaid pants, black-and-white shoes and giant, pointy collar...and Uncle Ricky wearing his tank-top vest...with a cuckoo clock on the wall. Her prayers were answered.

Jack Brown
Jack looks like...
a) The principal of your Jr. High school
b) The loan officer who turned you down for a loan during your sophomore year in college
c) The guy who fired you from every job you ever had
d) A guy who was in prison for 17 years with Al Capone and Machine Gun Kelly
If you answered D, you're right. I'd be scared to even listen to this album.

Puppets and Dummies
Who doesn't love long-play record albums of their favorite puppets and ventriloquist dummies, amiright?
Would you look at those two? This reminds me...I need to order a 5-gallon bucket of soup...
OK...
That Joey is one ugly dummy...
Awkward...
Erick was like, "Forget Beverly...I'm doing a solo project!"

Come and Dine?
Some groups were oddly obsessed with food and tables and dinnertime.
Gospel Music...mmm mmm good!
Looks like supper was a little sparce for the Hixsons back in the 70s.
"I didn't feel like cooking. Who wants to make a run to KFC?"
I enjoy breakfast as much as the next guy, but this is ridiculous...
It's just not breakfast without Don "Breakfast Club" McNeil throwin' some hymns my way...
We've seen this one before, but it's awesome. The mid-century modern chairs, the vintage phone on the wall...the dude with the sideburns who clearly doesn't want to be there...yes, it's a classic!

Gospel Midgets
These days, there's a whole new genre of reality TV shows that feature the daily adventures of "Little People." Once again, the Gospel music world was way ahead of the curve. But they had no use for political correctness. In Gospel music, they weren't called little people or even dwarfs. They just called 'em midgets, plain and simple.

Fun with Numbers (Part Two)
This post once again explores a very sad epidemic: the arithmetic crisis in Gospel Music. In this post, we take a look at quartets. A quartet has 4 members.
Let's count together...1, 2, 3, 4.
The following groups are struggling with that concept...
Excuse me for noticing, but I count 5...
"Midwestern Quintet," maybe?
"The Commanders Quintet," perhaps? That looks like a young Richard Nixon on one knee beside Mom...
"The Chuffs Gospel Quintet." And my, don't the children look happy as they sing about their "favorite Bible TAILS?"
